The Center for Research and Education of Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED).

 

On January 4th 2019, two representatives of The Center for Research and Education of Deaf and Hard Of Hearing (CED) joyed in the event “Gala Happy Hour NPO 2019” held by LIN. This was a greeting day for Non-Profit Organization communities working in Ho Chi Minh City and neighbor provinces to look back their journeys 2018 and share their new plans, challenges in 2019.

 

On January 6th 2019, Ms Duong Phuong Hanh- Director of CED was invited to interview of  “Domestic violence against women with disabilities” at Disabled Women Club.

 

On January 12th 2019, Ms Duong Phuong Hanh- Director of CED participated in the workshop “Feel the difference of using Cochlear Implant” held by Quang Duc Hearing Service Co Ltd. The workshop was about giving the answers for questions of Cochlear Implant and teaching methods for children in after. It was made by doctors and experts in this field.

 

On  January 13th 2019, The Center for Research and Education of Deaf and Hard Of Hearing (CED), 2 members of  Ho Chi Minh City Deaf Club and 1 student with hearing loss studying Arena College joined in the program Orange Initiative implemented by the Ho Chi Minh City Peace and Development Foundation (HPDF) collaborated with the organization Pulse Active- the company held Ho Chi Minh Marathon 2019 at C13, Tan Trao Street, Phu My Hung, District 7, Ho Chi Minh City took place a activity to support People With Disability and Agent Orange Survivors.   

 

 

On January 13th  and 20th 2019, Ms Duong Phuong Hanh- Director of CED was invited to share her experiences in the training course TOT 5 (40 participants) and TOT 6 (40 participants) in Information Technology Park,  Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, Town 6, Linh Trung Ward, Thu Duc District. This was the Training of Trainers about the skills of coordination, organization, support for start a social business and social enterprise held by Ministry of Education and Training, British Council and Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City.   

 

 

On January 19th 2019, The Center for Research and Education of Deaf and Hard Of Hearing (CED) donated 19 hearing aids to 19 poor children with hearing loss studying at School of Disabilities in Dong Thap.

 

On January 22rd 2019, The Center for Research and Education of Deaf and Hard Of Hearing (CED) welcomed one staff of Vietnam IST Co Ltd- Tourist Visa Company and his 2 customers coming with along, one of them was hard of hearing.  Ms Duong Phuong Hanh- Director of CED interpreted all questions and answers, also confirmation and appraisal the ability of the customer with hearing loss to go abroad.

 

On January 24th 2019, The Center for Research and Education of Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) greeted Ms Rebecca Vaughan- a English lady with hearing loss came to visit CED and found the Sign Language interpreter who supported her to travel some place in Ho Chi Minh City.  

 

 

 

In same day, The Center for Research and Education of Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) welcomed the group of World Wide Orphan Foundation (WWO) visiting CED. They were one staff of WWO, three children with hearing loss and their parents in Ben Tre. They would like to have some advice of Ms Duong Phuong Hanh- Director of CED for teaching speaking to the children at home.

 

CED’s Hearing Aid Fund: donated 30 new hearing aids to 2 poor children with hearing loss in Ha Noi, 1 in Ha Tinh, 1 in Quang Ngai, 4 in Ho Chi Minh City, 19 at Dong Thap Disabilities School and 1 adult in Ho Chi Minh City.

In this month, The Center for Research and Education of The Deaf and Hard Of Hearing (CED) conducted 78 cases for consultancy / peer counseling in relation with hearing loss field: education, job, hearing aids, giving advice for parents of children with hearing loss, sign language, lip reading, etc…
