INTERNATION DAY OF PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES 03/12

The International Day of People with Disabilities is an international activity which was organized the first time by UN in 1992 and since then on December 3rd every year. This is the activity that encourages the full and equal participation of people with disability, calling for acting for inclusion and development of people with disability in all areas of life.

UN chose the theme for this year International Day of People with Disabilities 03/12/2021: “Leadership and participation of people with disabilities towards an inclusive, accessible and sustainable post-COVID 19 world”. The UN General Secretary, Mr. Antonio Guterres confirmed: “Recognizing clearly rights, representation and leadership of people with disabilities will foster our common future. We need everyone, including people with disabilities, joining in order to achieve sustainable development goals. All over the world, people with disabilities and their representatives are acting to realize the message: “Nothing about us without us”.

In Vietnam, we are getting more and more used to living with the Covid pandemic, aiming towards a “new normal” life – economic developing as well as pandemic preventing at the same time. More than ever, the government and communities need to care more about supporting people with disability in their social inclusion after the pandemic.
