COURSE ON SKILLS FOR COMMUNICATION WITH PEOPLE WITH HEARING LOSS CLASS 71 – SESSION 9

On February 12, 2023, Ms. Duong Phuong Hanh - Director of Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) trained Basic Lips-reading for 18 participants, including 8 participants who work in areas of Education, Health Care, Laws, Social Activities, Communication… and 10 participants who are highschool students and students majoring in Social Work, Education, Nursery, Linguistics, Economics-Finance, Communication and Public Relations …

Lips-reading is second theme in the training program on Skills for Communication with People with Hearing Loss (Deaf, Hard of Hearing, Late Deafened). The first theme was Sign Language.

In this ninth session, students:

  • Learning the concept of Lips-reading;
  • Understanding the factors affecting people with hearing loss in lips-reading;
  • Knowing skills for assisting people with hearing loss with lips-reading in communication;
  • Practicing and discussing practical situations.

Class 71 is the course in the framework of the project “A world without barriers for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing people, sponsored by the Impact Fund of the Australian Volunteer Program (AVP) and implemented by the Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) in the year 2022-2023.

Classes are held periodically on Sunday mornings.
