TRAINING ON SKILLS FOR ASSISTING PEOPLE WITH HEARING LOSS IN HOSPITALS (Class 4-Session 1)

On May 29-30, 2021, Ms. Duong Phuong Hanh - Director of CED - trained 31 participants who are teachers in special education and health care and medical staff in hospitals in HCMC, Long An, Dong Thap and Vung Tau on “Skills for supporting people with hearing loss (Deaf and Hard of Hearing / DHoH) in hospitals”.

Participants were introduced about basic ways to communicate with DHoH by sign language and speechreading. The training will be continued with two more sessions in June about skills in communication and assisting people with hearing loss in hospitals.

This is fourth training of the project “Promoting the initial legal support and implementation of regulations on medical examination and treatment for people with hearing loss (deaf, hard of hearing and deafened)” of CED, sponsored by EU through JIFF-Oxfam.
