Part 1: CED activities
- On June 5, 2021, Ms. Duong Phuong Hanh – Director of CED had an online conclusion session for 36 participant who were students in special education, social work, public health of class 1 and class 2 of the training program “Skills for assisting people with hearing loss in hospitals.”

- On June 7, 2021, CED technical team had a meeting for building and developing the website together with Falcon design team. Through this meeting, CED staff learned more about website operation.

- On June 8, 2021, CED project team had a meeting in preparation for the meeting with the sponsor Oxfam in the next week. Members reported and updated progress as well as difficulties in implementation the project for finding solutions together.

- On June 9, 2021, CED organised the survey on community needs of mental health care services for people with hearing loss.
- On June 12, 2021, Ms. Duong Phuong Hanh – Director of CED trained online for 29 participants who were health care staff in hospitals and teachers in special schools in HCMC, Long An, Dong Thap, Vung Tau on “Skills for assisting people with hearing loss in hospitals.” This is the 3rd session of Class 4.

- On June 14, 2021, CED annouced continued RECRUITMENT FOR THE TRAINING ON SIGN LANGUAGE INTERPRETATION. Eligible participants: sign language interpreters who had not have yet the formal certificates or teachers, parents who had basic and good at sign language.
- On June 15, 2021, CED had a project’s mid-term report meeting with representatives of the Secretary Board of JIFF – Oxfam

- On June 19, 2021, Ms. Duong Phuong Hanh – Director of CED, trained 25 participants who were health care staff in hospitals and teachers in special schools in HCMC, Long An, Dong Thap, Vung Tau on “Skills for assisting people with hearing loss in hospitals.” This is the 4th session of Class 4.
- On June 20, 2021, CED organised the initial meeting with participants of the training course on Sign Language Interpretation.

- On June 21, 2021, CED opened the training course on “Sign Language Interpretation” for 34 participants who were teachers in special schools, parents and students in many provinces such as Hanoi, Long An, An Giang, Dong Thap, Vinh Long, Dak Nong, Dak Lak, HCMC…
- On June 23, 2021, the training course “Sign Language Interpretation” organized by CED continued the 3rd day in the series of 5 days with 35 participants who were teachers in special schools, parents and students in many provinces such as Hanoi, Long An, An Giang, Dong Thap, Vinh Long, Dak Nong, Dak Lak, HCMC…
- On June 24, 2021, Ms. Duong Phuong Hanh – Director of CED was invited to join the in-depth interview for the survey “Evaluating providing capability of assisting technology in Vietnam”, the study by the collaboration of Health Ministry and World Health Organisation, directly conducted by Department of Health Examination and Treatment with the support of the Hospital on rehabilitation and occupational disease treatment in HCMC.

- On June 25, 2021, the training course “Sign Language Interpretation” organized by CED came to the last day in the series of 5 days with 34 participants who were teachers in special schools, parents and students in many provinces such as Hanoi, Long An, An Giang, Dong Thap, Vinh Long, Dak Nong, Dak Lak, HCMC…
- On June 28, 2021, CED announced the RECRUITMENT OF CLASS 6 – TRAINING ON SKILLS FOR ASSISTING PEOPLE WITH HEARING LOSS IN HOSPITALS
Part 2: “CED’s Hearing Aid Fund” Report
In June 2021, CED’s Hearing Aid Fund granted 4 hearing aids for 2 children with hearing loss (3 girls) who live in poor families:
- Nguyễn Văn Đăng Khôi: 2 hearing aids (Hanoi)
- Nguyễn Hoàng Long: 2 hearing aids (Binh Thuan)
However, because of covid situation, the hearing aids will be given right after ending of social distance direction.
On behalf of the children, CED would like to express our sincere gratitude to German Lions Foundation for granting the hearing aids and the Quang Duc Hearing Aid Service Ltd Company for supporting.
Part 3: Peer Consultation/Counseling:
In June, Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) conducted 71 consultation/counseling cases on education, training, skills programs, hearing aids, jobs, consultation for parents who have dificulties in teaching children with hearing loss, sign language, etc…
