ACTIVITY REPORT – NOVEMBER 2020
On November 5, 2020, CED welcomed Mr. Nguyen Hoang Lam – Director of Nang Moi company to visit and collaborate in supporting sign language interpretation for CED’s project “Promoting the initial legal support and implementation of regulations on medical examination and treatment for people with hearing loss (deaf, hard of hearing and deafened)”.

On November 6, 2020, CED had an extracurricular session, which was a continued activity in the International Pen Pal Writing Program (PEACE PEN). In this session, students join following activities:
- Asking about their friends’ hobbies and sharing about their own ones.
- Writing a full-structure letter with 3 parts: self-introduction, hobbies and a favorite friend.
- Drawing and decorating their letters.

On November 7, 2020, CED students participated in the extracurricular session “Clockwatcher”, applying STEAM education. Students understood about the shapes and time indicated on the clockwatcher, based on the cubes, globes and numbers that they had studied. Moreover, they also learned about the concept of “clockwise/anti-clockwise”.

On November 11, 2020, Ms Duong Phuong Hanh – Director of CED, was invited to the workshop “Men pioneering in preventing and coping with violence towards women and children in the context of Covid 19 pandemic”, organized by HCMC Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs, UN Women, People’s Committee of District 1 and other related organisations.
On November 13, 2020, CED and the Lawyer Ms. Nguyen Thi Xuan Huong, Director of Center of Legal Counseling for the Poor in HCMC held a legal communication workshop for teachers and staff of the Center of Vocational Training and Job Creation for People with Disabilities in HCMC
On November 15, 2020, CED organized the project launching workshop “Promoting the initial legal support and implementation of regulations on medical examination and treatment for people with hearing loss (deaf, hard of hearing and deafened)” at the General Science Library, 97 Ly Tu Trong, District 1, HCMC.

On November 16, 2020, students of “Education-Vocational Training-Inclusion” class learned communication with the topic: “Self Health Care”. Activities were interacted between teacher – student; student – student.

On November 17, 2020, CED was invited by Artinus company to visit the 3D Painting Museum – Artinus. CED is planning for this visit in December.
On November 18, 2020, CED students were invited to visit the Opera House station and experienced special facilities for people with disabilities, organized by the Management Authority for Urban Railway (MAUR).

On November 19, 2020, CED students had a drawing session on “Celebrating Vietnamese Teacher’s Day 20-11”. Students were instructed to draw gifts for their Teachers as an expression of gratitude. Those gifts are beautiful flowers and cards that they had carefully made and decorated by themselves.

On November 19, 2020, CED welcomed the journalist, Ms. Phung Thi Xuan Mai from Tuoi Tre newspaper to visit and record students with hearing loss studying at CED and listening to the Lawyer and the Teacher about difficulties that people with hearing loss might encounter when going to hospitals for medical examination and treatment.
Celebrating Vietnamese Teacher’s Day on November 20, 2020, CED organized a party for students. CED sincerely thanks to parents who gave flowers, cakes and gifts to CED’s teachers and students.

On November 22, CED and the Lawyer Ms. Nguyen Thi Xuan Huong, Director of Center of Legal Counseling for the Poor in HCMC held a legal communication workshop for special education teachers who are also students of the inter-college program at one branch of the HCMC Pedagogy University.

On November 26, 2020, CED students had a drawing session with the topic “Flying to the Space”. Students learned how to recognize characteristics of things in space.

On November 26, 2020, CED welcomed Representatives of JIFF Secretariat and two auditors of the BDO auditing firm to visit CED. Ms Duong Phuong Hanh, Director of CED also joined the meeting.

On November 29, CED and the Lawyer Ms. Nguyen Thi Xuan Huong, Director of Center of Legal Counseling for the Poor in HCMC held a legal communication workshop for hard of hearing people at Ly Nhon primary school in district 4, HCMC.

Peer Consultation/Counseling
In November, Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) conducted 43 consultation/counseling cases on education, hearing aids, consultation for parents who have dificulties in teaching children with hearing loss, sign language, etc…
