Part 1: CED activities
- On September 2, 2021, Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing had a meeting with representative from the Australian Volunteer Program and the volunteer. At the meeting, we discussed and agreed on CED’s expectations about the volunteer’s work.

- On September 4, 2021, Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) consulted online about speech-reading skills for one student with hearing loss in Can Tho.

- On September 5, 2021, Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) had a consultation for a parent of a child with hearing loss having cochlear implant about how to help him enhancing communication and social integration.

- On September 9, 2021, Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) continued recruiting for Class 6&7 of the training “Skills for Assisting People with Hearing Loss in hospitals”.

- On September 11, 2021, CED organized the 3rd meeting in the series of 6 monthly meetings after the “Sign Language Interpretation training” in order to continue supporting participants in exchanging knowledge, practicing skills and sharing experiences.

- On September 12, 2021, participants of the “Sign Language Interpretation” class of the Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing had an online meeting with the Deafs of the Khanh Hoi Evangelical Church (District 4) and the Light Source Evangelical Church (Go Vap District).

- On September 13, 2021, CED started the online class “Sign Language on Medical Theme” with more than 40 participants who were teachers in special schools and parents of children with hearing loss in HCMC, Hanoi, Dong Nai, An Giang, Danang, Dong Thap, Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan, Dak Nong, Dak Lak, Lam Dong, Nha Trang, Kien Giang.

- On September 18, 2021, Ms. Duong Phuong Hanh – Director of CED was invited by Startup Education (SE) to give the talk “Good Chance and Choice” in the Inspiration Program.

- On September 18-19, 2021, CED started the 6-7 class of the “Skills for Assisting People with Hearing Loss in Hospitals” training (Session 1 & 2) with 55 participations who were social workers, teachers in special schools, parents of children with hearing loss, medical staff and students in HCMC, Hanoi, Phu Tho, Ninh Binh, Can Tho, Quang Ngai, Gia Lai, Danang, Khanh Hoa, Vinh Long, Hai Phong, Dong Nai.

- On September 20, 2021, CED continued the second week of the online 8 session-course of Sign Language on Medical Theme with 47 participants who were teachers in special schools, parents of children with hearing loss in HCMC, Hanoi, Dong Nai, An Giang, Danang, Dong Thap, Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan, Dak Nong, Dak Lak, Lam Dong, Nha Trang, Kien Giang.

- On September 22, 2021, CED had an online meeting with Ms. Tran Thi Yen, recruitment specialist of Thien Tu Company about recruiting staff for caring of customers with hearing loss.

- On September 23, 2021, CED had an online consultation with Mr. Le Duc Thien, manager of production groups of a private sewing company about how to communicate and work with staff with hearing loss.

- On September 25, 2021, CED organized online training “Skills for Assisting People with Hearing Loss in Hospitals” training (Session 3 & 4) for 44 participants who were social workers, teachers in special schools, parents of children with hearing loss, medical staff and students in HCMC, Hanoi, Phu Tho, Ninh Binh, Can Tho, Quang Ngai, Gia Lai, Danang, Khanh Hoa, Vinh Long, Hai Phong, Dong Nai.

- On September 27, 2021, CED was happy to connect the sponsors of the Social Sharing Fund and successfully gave 86 supporting packages for 48 families of students with hearing loss and 38 people with hearing loss in difficult situations, affected by the Covid pandemic. The total given amount was 172.000.000 VND (One hundred seventy-two million). One package was of 2.000.000 VND/family (Two million VND).

- On September 28, 2021, the Sign Language on Medical Theme course had the final session with 51 participants who were teachers in special schools and parents of children with hearing loss in HCMC, Hanoi, Dong Nai, An Giang, Danang, Dong Thap, Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan, Dak Nong, Dak Lak, Lam Dong, Nha Trang, Kien Giang.

Part 2: CED’s Hearing Aid Fund Report
In September 2021, because of the Covid situation, though it was gradually controlled but we were still in social distance, CED’s Hearing Aid Fund could not give the hearing aids to the receivers. However, CED was always present online for recording the requests of the hearing aid granting program for children with hearing loss in poor families.

In September, Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) conducted 77 consultation/counseling cases on education, sign language, skills for assisting people with hearing loss trainings, jobs, surveys, hearing aids, consulting parents having difficulties in raising children with hearing loss, supporting people with hearing loss in the time of Covid…
