ART-CLASS: SELF-PORTRAIT WITH FLOWERS
On September 15, 2026, the students at the Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) took part in an exciting artistic journey with the theme “Self-Portrait with Flowers.” This was not just a regular portrait drawing lesson, but also an opportunity for the students to observe themselves, develop their creativity, and express their personalities through their favorite flowers.
To help them complete their artworks, each student was given a mirror by the teacher so they could observe themselves more clearly. Looking at their reflections in the mirror, the students carefully observed the shapes and unique features of their faces and began creating their self-portraits. In particular, each student was free to choose a favorite flower to include in the artwork, creating a painting with their own personal style and colors.
In a friendly and comfortable learning environment, the students participated in the self-portrait activity and freely expressed their creativity.
• Observing themselves: Looking in the mirror, the students carefully observed the shape of their faces and their own unique features.
• Sketching the portrait: Starting with the first lines, each student began to draw themselves based on their own perspective and personal style.
• Adding their favorite flower: Each student chose a favorite flower to include in the painting, creating a harmonious combination of their personal image and the beauty of nature.
• Completing the artwork: The students added colors to complete their paintings while showing their creativity and individual style.
The art activity “Self-Portrait with Flowers” offered the students an enjoyable and colorful learning experience. Through observing themselves, sketching their portraits, choosing their favorite flowers, and completing their artwork, the students not only practiced their observation and drawing skills but also had the opportunity to develop their imagination, creativity, and individuality. Each artwork became a unique creation, reflecting the student’s personal identity and their own way of appreciating the beauty of themselves in harmony with the beauty of nature.
