ART CLASS: THE ART OF PAPIER-MÂCHÉ
On March 17, 2026, the STEM class at the Center for Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) held an engaging Art session focused on the theme: Papier-mâché. The lesson aimed to help students understand and practice a unique technique using simple materials, while simultaneously fostering dexterity and artistic thinking.
During the session, the students were guided on how to wrap tape around objects, tear newspaper into small pieces, dip them in white glue, and mold them into their favorite animals or objects. Under the teacher’s guidance, the students practiced each step and completed their own unique products. Through this activity, they not only practiced patience and meticulousness but also developed teamwork and problem-solving skills. Furthermore, the lesson helped students understand the value of recycling - reusing discarded materials to create meaningful items. It was truly a beneficial session that provided memorable experiences and helped spark a love for art within each student.
