EXTRACURRICULAR SESSION: INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES (December 3)

On December 1, 2023, at the Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED), STEM students had an extracurricular session: "Celebrating 31 years of International Day of Persons with Disabilities".

The extracurricular session includes the following contents:

- Origin and meaning of International Day of Persons with Disabilities (December 3), theme of International Day of Persons with Disabilities 2023 (United in action to rescue and achieve the SDGs for, with and by persons with disabilities).

- Concept and types of disability.

- The inspirational figures of persons with disabilities in foreign countries (Mr. Nick Vujicic...), in Vietnam (penguin teacher Le Thi Tham...).

- Understand and remember the saying "Hearing loss is just an inconvenience, not a misfortune".

At the end of the extracurricular session, there is a review of the knowledge to remember in the form of Ringing the Golden Bell.

The extracurricular session "Celebrating the 31st Anniversary of International Day of Persons with Disabilities" not only helps students realize the strength and extraordinary spirit of persons with disabilities but also emphasizes the social challenges they are facing. It will be a motivation for students to overcome difficulties and obstacles when integrating into the community.
