The Center For Research and Education of The Deaf and Hard Of Hearing (CED)
On Sep 9th 2018, The Center For Research and Education of The Deaf and Hard Of Hearing (CED) was open the course 60 of Basic Sign Language for 14 participants who are students, employers in which one participant with hearing loss. He is deaf, can’t speak and use sign. His main communication is note-taking.
On Sep 10th and 11th 2018, Ms Duong Phuong Hanh – the Director of The Center For Research and Education of The Deaf and Hard Of Hearing (CED) taught a lady with hearing loss living in Ha Noi about Lip-reading at CED center to help her improve the communication skill.
On Sep 12th 13th and 14th 2018 Ms Duong Phuong Hanh had a training named “Skill in Supporting people with hearing loss (Deaf/ Hard of Hearing/ Deafened) in Hospital” for 15 participants included: Doctors, Nursing Assistants, Technicians, Staff of General Planning Department, Staff of Administrative Department, Receptionists. The contents presented in the training were: The basic issues of People with hearing loss and Vietnamese Sign Language, Vietnamese Basic Sign Language and Medical Sign Language, Lipreading, Skills in Communication and Support. At the end of the training, the participants were instructed to build "Procedure of supporting patients with hearing loss at hospital" at seven Departments.
On Sep 22nd 23rd and 24th 2018, Ms Duong Phuong Hanh- the Director of CED and with her partner, Master Ms Hoang Truong Thuy An - The Lecturer of Special Education Department, Ho Chi Minh City University of Pedagogy had a training about “Inclusive Education Support” at The Development and Support Center for Inclusive Education of Dak Nong.
The contents of the training were: sharing the operation of The Center for Research and Education of The Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) – a private institute speacializing in hearing loss; Vietnamese Sign Language; Lip-Reading; skills in supporting students with hearing loss who study at the mainstream schools how to develop thinking, how to understand abstract words, learn Vietnamese, learn by heart, spell, … ; comprehension of inclusive education.
CED’s Hearing Aids Fund: donating 02 new hearing aids for 1child, 1 adult with hearing loss and poor and disadvantaged condition living in Dong Nai and Yen Bai Province.
- Bui Minh Hanh, Suoi Nho Hamlet, Dinh Quan District, Dong Nai Province, 01 new hearing aid.
- Luong Thi Kieu Thuy, Hung Khanh Hamlet, Tran Yen District, Yen Bai Province, 01 new hearing aid.
- Pham Thi Huyen, Mai Chau Hamlet, Hoa Binh Province, 01 new hearing aid.

Consultancy/Peer counseling:
In this month, The Center for Research and Education of The Deaf and Hard Of Hearing (CED) conducted 35 cases for consultancy / peer counseling in relation with hearing loss field: education, job, hearing aid, skill learning, sign language, lip reading, provide information for social organizations, NGOs, etc…
