SUMMARY OF COURSE 78: SKILLS IN COMMUNICATION WITH PEOPLE WITH HEARING LOSS (VIETNAMESE SIGN LANGUAGE AND LIP-READING)

Course 78 of the “Skills in Communication with People with Hearing Loss" course has successfully concluded, attracting over 51 registrations, with 29 active participants and 13 of them excellently completing the course.

Thanks to the enthusiastic learning spirit of the participants and the heartfelt insights shared by Ms. Duong Phuong Hanh – Director of the Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED), the course was filled with a vibrant, open, and warm atmosphere.

CED would like to gratefully acknowledge and share the profound reflections and feedback from our participants after the course:

“Through these sessions, I have come to realize that everyone may have different ways of communication and experience.”

“I was particularly impressed by your explanation of how individuals born deaf acquire language. Thank you for answering my questions and providing a deeper perspective on the community of people withh hearing loss.”

The course has officially come to an end, but a new journey – the journey of understanding and connection – has just begun. The 29 participants stepping out of the virtual classroom today will become 29 "ambassadors," spreading this understanding into schools, hospitals, businesses, and the community.

CED sincerely thanks all of trainees for your interest in sign language, lip-reading, and for taking the time to learn about communicating with people with hearing loss. Your companionship is the most sustainable bridge, helping people with hearing loss to be heard, understood, and confident in integrating and contributing to society.
