COMMUNITY SUPPORT

On March 6, 2026, Ms. Duong Phuong Hanh, Director of the Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED), met with a parent of a student with hearing loss who studies in inclusive education programs and shared solutions for developing communication skills and inclusive learning for the student.

CED can support students in improving their academic performance, teaching them how to use speech-to-text technology to understand some of the teacher's lectures. Simultaneously, students need to learn self-help skills and how to ask for help.

CED also advises families to work with school administrators and teachers to share their children's difficulties and request assistance so that they can learn more effectively in inclusive education.

Inclusive education is not a "difficult, insurmountable path," but rather about knowing how to "use the tools to break down barriers." The coordinated educational efforts between the three environments—family, school, and society—will make it possible.
