EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITY: CELEBRATING VIETNAMESE WOMEN’S DAY – OCTOBER 20

🌷 IN CELEBRATION OF VIETNAMESE WOMEN’S DAY ON OCTOBER 20, students at the Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) took part in a meaningful extracurricular session combining creative art activities with Vietnamese history and cultural traditions. Through sand art decoration and a film about the Trung Sisters, students had the opportunity to explore the beauty, patriotism, and admirable qualities of Vietnamese women.

With materials such as white glue, colored sand, colored paper, and colored markers prepared for the activity, students created and decorated their own unique cards. The activity aimed to encourage students to make handmade cards for their grandmothers, mothers, and other beloved women in their families and among their loved ones to celebrate October 20. Each card reflected not only creativity and care but also the students’ love, gratitude, and heartfelt wishes for the important women in their lives.

Through a film about the Trung Sisters, students learned about Trưng Trắc and Trưng Nhị, two Vietnamese heroines remembered for leading an uprising against foreign rule. Their story highlights the patriotism, courage, and determination of Vietnamese women throughout the nation’s history.

From historical stories to hands-on creative activities, the session helped students gain a better understanding of the role and contributions of Vietnamese women across generations. It was also an opportunity to nurture gratitude and appreciation for grandmothers, mothers, teachers, and all the special women in their lives.

💗 Through this extracurricular session, CED hopes to provide students with meaningful experiences that combine learning, enjoyment, and the exploration of traditional cultural values. Each activity offers an opportunity for students to express themselves, broaden their knowledge, and develop a deeper appreciation for Vietnamese history and culture.
