🥮 EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITY: MAKING TRADITIONAL MID-AUTUMN MOONCAKES 🌕

On the occasion of the Mid-Autumn Festival, on September 25, 2026, students from the STEM class at the Center for Deaf Education Research (CED) participated in an extracurricular activity themed “Making Traditional Mid-Autumn Mooncakes.” This experiential activity gave the students an opportunity to learn, practice, and develop practical everyday skills. ✨

🥮 HANDS-ON EXPERIENCE IN EVERY STEP OF MOONCAKE MAKING

During the activity, the students were guided through and directly practiced the steps of making traditional Mid-Autumn mooncakes. They learned the names of the necessary tools and ingredients, practiced kneading the dough, separating the filling, combining the filling with the outer layer, and using molds to shape the mooncakes. Each step was explained clearly so that the students could observe, remember, and carry it out independently. 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳

🤝 LEARNING AND PRACTICING TOGETHER

Besides learning how to make mooncakes, the students also practiced dexterity and initiative throughout the activity. Situations such as assembling the mooncake molds, putting on gloves correctly, handling mooncakes that did not meet the desired standard, packaging the mooncakes, and decorating the board with a Mid-Autumn theme gave the students opportunities to communicate, support one another, and find solutions to problems. 🌟

💛 LEARNING SKILLS THROUGH EVERYDAY ACTIVITIES

Through the activity, the students had opportunities to develop a spirit of cooperation, sharing, and supporting their peers. Simple actions such as waiting for their turn, completing a step together, saying thank you when receiving help, and proactively assisting friends also contributed to developing essential skills for daily living and communication.

🌕 EVERY MOONCAKE – A UNIQUE EXPERIENCE

Making mooncakes is not only about creating a finished product, but also about learning how to complete a task, cooperate with others, and confidently demonstrate one's abilities. Through these practical experiences, the students had more opportunities to apply what they had learned to everyday activities while also discovering their interests and abilities. ✨

🥮 The “Making Traditional Mid-Autumn Mooncakes” extracurricular activity at CED provided the students with a joyful, familiar, and meaningful experience. The mooncakes completed through their own skills and efforts not only carried the flavor of the Mid-Autumn Festival but also preserved memorable moments of learning, playing, and growing together. 💕🌕
