COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT: ORIENTATION MEETING FOR STUDENTS’ MICRO SOCIAL WORK INTERNSHIP PROGRAM AT CED
On the morning of August 25, 2026, at the Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED), six Social Work students from Ton Duc Thang University attended an orientation meeting with their academic supervisor, Mr. Vu Van Hieu, and Center representatives Ms. To Thi Bich Phuong and Ms. Trieu Thuy Mi, to officially begin their Micro Social Work Internship program.
During the meeting, the academic supervisor discussed on Internship objectives and plans for the students, expressing his hope that the students would gain hands-on experience, understand the CED operations, and apply their social work knowledge and skills in this internship. Ms. Phuong, representing CED, introduced the CED’s regulations, finalized the internship schedule, and provided guidance on assigning the students to appropriate classes. In addition, the students were offered an opportunity to participate in the training course 79 “Skills in Communication with deaf and hard of hearing people” and training on “Using Forms and Case Consultation Documentation,” scheduled for August 27, 2026. These sessions are intended to help the students quickly adapt to the Center’s specialized intervention environment.
On this occasion, Mr. Vu Van Hieu presented CED with 2 copies of his professional book “Community-Based Social Work” which he authored, as a meaningful gift and resource to enrich the CED’s reference library. The meeting took place in a warm and open atmosphere, laying a positive foundation for the students’ upcoming internship journey and creating favorable conditions for their learning and professional development at CED.
