COMMUNITY OUTREACH: BRIDGING EDUCATION AND SOCIAL WORK PRACTICE

On July 13, 2026, the Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) welcomed five third-year Social Work students from Ho Chi Minh City Open University for a site visit to complete their assignment for the School Social Work course.

The session served as a professional exchange, allowing students to explore the complexities of the field through several key lenses:

• Classroom Realities: Gaining a multidimensional perspective on integrated teaching methods and the vital importance of specialized learning environments for the deaf and hard of hearing.

• Personalized Approach: Understanding the significance of tailoring support plans to meet the unique capabilities and specific needs of each child.

• Professional Development: Cultivating analytical thinking from a professional social work perspective.

With a mission to support the inclusion of the people with hearing loss community, CED has been actively partnering with institutions such as Ho Chi Minh City Open University, Ton Duc Thang University, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, and many others. Through these collaborations, we welcome students to gain hands-on experience in social work and deaf and harf of hearing education.

At CED, we believe that providing young, aspiring professionals with real-world exposure is the most effective way to amplify our core mission: "Let the deaf and hard of hearing be heard."
