ART CLASS: CREATING A “SUMMER CASTLE” WITH WOOD AND PAPER

On June 4, 2025, elementary students at the Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) had a highly creative experience with the theme “Summer Castle.” Instead of only drawing on paper, they combined assembling wooden model pieces to create a castle structure, then sketched additional details on paper to complete their artwork.

Under the dedicated guidance of their teachers, the students arranged small wooden pieces to shape the castle's gate, walls, and towers. After finishing the model, they continued to draw the surrounding scenery, from the clear blue sky and vibrant flower gardens to the winding river at the foot of the castle.

The class concluded with many unique and colorful artworks. This lesson not only helped refine artistic skills but also encouraged creative thinking and the ability to integrate multiple materials in art.
