TRAINING: DEVELOPING COMMUNICATION SKILLS
He is 23 years old, hard of hearing man, and has graduated from a Mechanical Engineering college. He is currently working at his family's mechanical workshop.
He worries that he doesn’t have opportunities to communicate with his peers, and that the current tasks are too simple and boring, causing him to forget the skills he learned in college. He wants to improve his communication skills before finding another job.
In his case, there are two options:
1. He still works with his family and attends CED two days a week to:
- Be created opportunities for interaction and communication to develop listening and speaking skills.
- Be taught skills in lip-reading, speech reflexes, and improve pronunciation.
- Develop critical thinking and awareness of the world.
Once he is more confident and can communicate better, he can look for another job.
2. Find a job at a mechanical company within CED's job placement network and arrange to participate in CED's programs to improve communication.
