EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITY: CARDBOARD HOUSE MODELING

On July 10, 2026, at the Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED), the students joined a group of volunteers for a highly rewarding and creative extracurricular session themed “Cardboard House Modeling”.

Using simple materials like corrugated cardboard boxes, tape, glue guns, watercolors, and small LED fairy lights, with the supportive guidance of the volunteers, the students:

• Imagined and conceptualized their own dream houses, measuring and cutting the cardboard into basic geometric shapes.

• Vibrantly colored and decorated the walls and roofs, skillfully gluing the pieces together to form a complete structure.

• Decorated the surroundings of their houses and installed tiny lights to make the models look magical and cozy.

The final results achieved after the session are a miniature "neighborhood" featuring incredibly diverse and unique cardboard house models. From traditional gabled roofs and modern high-rises to charming little cottages illuminated by glowing lights, each product perfectly reflects the unique creative touch of each student.

Through this activity, the children not only honed their 3D spatial visualization, modeling skills, and meticulous handicraft abilities but also learned to cleverly repurpose recycled materials. At the same time, interacting and connecting with the volunteers boosted their communication skills, confidence, and spread the joy of shared creativity.
