EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITY: THE COLORS OF LABOR

"Labor is glory"

Some moments may have passed, but the positive energy they left behind remains timeless. Today, let’s take a little trip down memory lane and revisit the STEM classroom was filled with laughter and excitement at the Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED). The program was organized by a group of students from the Psychology Department of Ho Chi Minh City University of Education to provide a rewarding playground for the students.

The experiential journey guided the students through fascinating teamwork "stages":

Warm-up Stage: The Mystery Box

The students had a very exciting warm-up. In this game, they took turns reaching into a carton box to touch, feel, and use words and actions to help their teammates guess what the object was. More specifically, the students also had to correctly guess which profession the item is used for. The quick wits and seamless synergy of the teams heated up the atmosphere like never before!

Stage 1: Relay Painting

A challenge of agility and mutual understanding! With familiar themes like "A happy school" or "My teacher", each student had a mere 5 seconds to draw exactly 1 stroke or detail before passing the pen to the next person. The toughest challenge was that the students were not allowed to talk while drawing. Highly creative pictures were born from the rhythmic coordination of the entire team.

Stage 2: Paper Tower Building

At this station, the students challenged themselves as real "construction engineers". Using simple materials like paper and tape, the teams' mission was to roll or fold the paper into "artificial bricks" to build a tower. The challenge required ingenuity and excellent teamwork strategies for the tower to stand freestanding on the table without leaning against the wall. The team with the highest and sturdiest tower excellently claimed victory.

Additionally, after finishing the 2 stages, the students got to enjoy mixed fruit bowls prepared and presented by the university students to beat the heat. They ate very happily and with great appetite.

The students' efforts and solidarity in each activity are the most beautiful testament to the meaning of labor. Let's look back at our memorable moments through the pictures below!
