INCLUSIVE EDUCATION FOR STUDENT WITH HEARING IMPAIRMENTS

NDBK with profound hearing loss was one of the first students of CED. His mother had driven him to CED to improve pronunciation after his class at the preschool since he was 4 years old. When he was about to enter the first grade, his principal and teacher of his preschool advised his parents to let him stay at preschool for another year because his listening and speaking were not good, and that he couldn't enter a regular school. His mother did not want her son's learning to slow down as well as believed in his ability, so she asked me for an advice. I said firmly "BK will be able to study at a regular school and would rather stay in first grade". Finally, BK proves that I am right. BK not only can study at the regular school but also learns extremely well. Also, BK was “teacher assistant” for Ms. Hanh in some Lipreading sessions.

Now, he still keeps his title of good students and joins the competition team for good students in computer science.

Congratulations, BK. Thank you for helping me affirm one thing: "Children with profound hearing loss are able to study well at regular schools".

Love you.

Ms. Hanh.
