INTERNATIONAL EXCHANGE: WELCOMING STUDENTS FROM CAMP OUTREACH (NTU, SINGAPORE)
Recently, the Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) hosted a joyful and meaningful exchange with the Camp OutReach (COR) student group from the Welfare Services Club (WSC) of Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. The program was coordinated and connected by ECO Vietnam Group.
The gathering opened with insights from Ms. Trieu Thuy Mi (CED representative), who introduced an overview of CED’s operations, supporting activities for the deaf community, and more, with translation support from ECO. Following that, Mr. Nguyen Tien Hung (Deputy Director of Strategy and Communications at CED) engaged in a discussion session, answering questions from the Singaporean students about CED's support for the deaf community.
After the discussion, NTU students and CED students joined energetic warm-up games together to break the ice before splitting into two interactive groups:
- The colorful creativity group participated in making and designing lovely, colorful charm bracelets with different letter beads. This allowed CED students to unleash their creativity by incorporating their own names and hobbies into each beautiful bracelet.
- The global exploration group discovered geography and global continents together, while both sides enthusiastically shared the unique culture, famous landmarks, and traditional cuisines of Vietnam and Singapore.
The event brought about highly positive values as smiles, body language, and shared joy dissolved all barriers, providing international students with practical perspectives on supporting the deaf community in Vietnam. It also served as a meaningful space for CED students to develop skills, boost their confidence, and integrate into society.
The program concluded beautifully with radiant photos and a meaningful moment when CED students presented hand-drawn paintings to the Singaporean student group as a heartwarming token of gratitude.
CED would like to express our sincere gratitude to ECO Vietnam Group and the COR student group (NTU, Singapore). We wish you all the best and continued passion on your journey of connecting and creating positive impacts for the community!
