THE CENTER FOR RESEARCH AND EDUCATION OF THE DEAF AND HARD OF HEARING (CED)
On June 3rd 2019, The Center for Research and Education of The Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) welcomed students of Van Hien University to do the survey of teaching students with hearing loss issues that CED teachers had got.
On June 6th 2019, The Center for Research and Education of The Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) took all CED students to General Science Library in Ho Chi Minh City to read books in summer vacation at Number 69 Ly Tu Trong Street, District 1.
On June 8th and 14th 2019, the representative of The Center for Research and Education of The Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) worked with the representative of Rainbow Foundation and WWO to discuss about giving hearing aids to their children with hearing loss.
On June 15th 2019, The Center for Research and Education of The Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) held the Hearing Care Program for 27 children, parents and staff of Leftovers Love Sharing Community.
The Hearing Care Program included: Ears Test, Tympanometry Measurement and Hearing Test. Specially Mr Pham Bao Long, the doctor of Nguyen Tri Phuong Hospital came to support.
In this June, The Center for Research and Education of The Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) had got two registers of Hearing Care Program of Thao Dan Protection Organization and Friends For Street Children. They are going to plan on July 2019.
On June 23rd 2019, The Center for Research and Education for The Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) held successfully the workshop on “Interpretation Sign Language: Profession and Ethical Issues” for 70 participants at Saigon Innovation Hub 273 Dien Bien Phu, District 3, HCMC. It was sponsored by Kotra HCM, Daewon Pharmaceutical and An Viet Nam Investment And Service Trading Co Ltd (Blanc.)
The speakers were Prof. Mrs Lynn Finton, ASL/English Interpretation Program Director, MS, certified interpreter; and Mr. Ken Finton, Manager of Interpreting Services, Dept. of Access Services, MS. Mr and Mrs Finton are working at National Technical Institute of the Deaf under Rochester Technical Institute.
On June 26th 2019, The Center for Research and Education of The Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) discussed with the representative of VSource to develop the software for people with hearing loss.
CED’s Hearing Aid Fund: donated 9 new hearing aids to total 7 children with hearing loss and disadvantaged condition in Ho Chi Minh City, Ben Tre, Dong Thap and Ha Noi.

6.Nguyễn Thị Quỳnh Như: 1 hearing (Ben Tre)
7.Nguyễn Gia Hưng: 2 hearing aids (Ha Noi)
On behalf of people above, The Center for Research and Education of Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) sincerely thank German Lions Foundation for donating and Quang Duc Hearing Service Co Ltd for setting up hearing aids for children with hearing loss in both the South and the North.
Consultancy/Peer counseling:
In this month, The Center for Research and Education of The Deaf and Hard Of Hearing (CED) conducted 61 cases for consultancy / peer counseling in relation with hearing loss field: education, job, hearing aids, giving advice for parents of children with hearing loss, sign language, lip reading, etc…
