STEM SESSION: CREATING NATURAL COLORS FOR DAILY USE

On June 12, 2025, STEM students participated in a hands-on STEM session at the Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED), themed “Creating Natural Color for Daily Life.”

Without diving deep into chemistry, students used simple, accessible ingredients (like vaseline, vitamin E, and glutinous rice), the session included the following contents:
- Part 1: Extracting natural colors from vegetables and herbs (beetroot, carrot, green tea leaves).
- Part 2: Applying organic color in everyday life (making gel and safe food coloring).

These STEM sessions are part of CED’s educational approach to nurture the natural precision, creativity, and focus of  students with hearing loss, while promoting equal access to education and developing skills in critical thinking, analysis, and teamwork.
