STEM SESSION: HERBAL SOAP MAKING WORKSHOP
On November 3, 2025, at the Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED), students participated in a hands-on workshop titled “Herbal Soap Making.”
Under the guidance of their teacher, the students were divided into two groups:
- Group 1: Made small batches of herbal soap using laboratory tools such as test tubes, alcohol lamps, glass stirrers, silicone molds, and stands.
- Group 2: Made larger batches using familiar household items like stoves, pots, stainless steel stirrers, cutting boards, etc.
Setting aside complex chemical knowledge about saponification, the students successfully created lovely, fragrant herbal soap bars using simple, easy-to-find ingredients. These handmade soaps are safe and practical for everyday use.
