TRAINING PROGRAM: THE COURSE 77 OF SKILLS IN COMMUNICATION WITH PEOPLE WITH HEARING LOSS (SESSION 7&8)

On April 26, 2026, Ms. Duong Phuong Hanh – Director of The Center for Research and Education for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) – conducted a training session on Basic Sign Language, specifically the lesson “Animals and Transportation”, for 30 participants, including 12 individuals working in the fields of Education, Healthcare, Social Work, Business, Media, and Arts, and 18 university students and high school students.

Before starting the new lesson, participants reviewed the previous lesson, "Time and Weather”:

- Signing the verse of the poem “Time."

- Joining the "challenge" to translate traditional weather lore and folk proverbs.

Students were also asked to share some signs of the lesson "Animals and Transportation" that the teacher had asked them to research beforehand.

With the new lesson "Animals and Transportation", students:

- Participating in an analysis of the important characteristics in the formation of signs related to animals and transportation

- Interpreting the children's song “One Little Duck” into Sign Language.

This session officially concludes the Sign Language module - a vital component of the training program on Skills in Communication with people with hearing loss (Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and Deafened). In the next session, students will embark on a new journey with the second module: Lip-reading."
