CED’S TRANSPARENT MASK – NOT JUST SIMPLY A MASK

In the time of pandemic, masks have become indispensable when going out or in contact with people around. But masks are a barrier in lipsreading for people with hearing loss when communicating. Therefore, the Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) has designed and completed the product "Transparent mask" with the following uses:

- Prevent dust, splashes.

- Helps limit the possibility of infection with pathogens, viruses and bacteria in secretions from the patient's saliva, contributing to respiratory protection.

- Reusable for many times

- No unpleasant plastic smell.

- Low cost (only 1/3) compared to other transparent masks.

- In particular, thanks to the transparent plastic piece in the middle, people with hearing loss can see the other’s mouth when communicating.

Therefore, the CED transparent mask is not only a mask but also a communication aid for people with hearing loss.

Using CED transparent masks is one of the communication aid solutions, helping people with hearing loss to be more confident in social inclusion, especially at the time of opening, studying and working in the "New normal” period.
