SUPPORTING STUDENTS TO DO SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH
On 16/06/2025, Ms. Duong Phuong Hanh - Director of the Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) had a consultation session for a student majoring in English Pedagogy and his group who are under the Ho Chi Minh City University of Foreign Languages and Information Technology (HUFLIT) and conduct a scientific research with the topic “Exploring Challenges of Deaf-Hard of Hearing Learners in Ho Chi Minh City in Learning English and Assessing the Effectiveness of a Suggestive Curriculum”.
Ms. Hanh shared information about the groups that taught English to deaf or hard of hearing students, up to now at CED and in Ho Chi Minh City; things to note when communicating and teaching them. The two sides agreed to select a group of CED students to participate in the student research. At the same time, CED also presented the Handbook “Let Our Voice Resound” to the research group as a reference document on people with hearing loss, how to communicate and support them, to facilitate the group’s research process.
