Part 1: CED activities
- On January 4, 2023, Ms. Duong Phuong Hanh - Director of the Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) had an online counseling session for students with hearing loss studying at the University of Economics and Finance Ho Chi Minh City (UEF) about developing communication and integration skills in the University environment.

- On January 6 and 10, 2023, Ms. Duong Phuong Hanh - Director of the Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) was invited to present about "Lips Reading" for 12 students of the training Program on Master of Rehabilitation Technology, Speech Therapy, University of Medicine and Pharmacy, HCMC.

- On January 11, 2023, Ms. Duong Phuong Hanh - Director of the Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) and teachers had a meeting with representatives of the Department of Social Responsibility, Diversity and Inclusion of PWC Vietnam Co., Ltd.

- On January 8 and 15, 2023, Ms. Duong Phuong Hanh - Director of the Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) had a training session on the topic Sign Language - Basic level, sessions 5 and 6, for 19 students of Class 71 on Skills for Communications with People with Hearing Loss.

- On January 13, 2023, Ms. Duong Phuong Hanh - Director of the Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) had a consultation and sharing session with a group of students from Le Hong Phong Highschool HCMC on issues related to related to sign language and sign language interpreting needs of the community of people with hearing loss using sign language (deaf/hard of hearing) to support the group completing a scientific research outline with the topic "Developing software to apply artificial intelligence to support people with hearing loss in communication”.

- On January 13, 2023, Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) welcomed Mr. Duong Chi Vien, a former student of CED and Ms. Duong Mai Anh and her family to visit and send gifts for the Lunar New Year with lots of love to 17 students and 05 CED teachers.

- On January 14, 2023, Ms. Duong Phuong Hanh - Director of the Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) gave online counseling to relatives of children with hearing loss in Quang Ninh to help the children developing spoken language after wearing suitable hearing aids.

- On January 14, 2023, at the invitation of the Faculty of Sociology-Social Work-Southeast Asia, Ho Chi Minh City Open University, Ms. To Thi Bich Phuong - Deputy Director, representative of the Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) attended the Supervisor meeting and the internship.

- On January 29, 2023, the Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) held a parent meeting at the beginning of the year about the teaching plan at CED in the new semester.

- On January 31, 2023, the Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) enrolls students in the training program "SKILLS FOR ASSISTING PEOPLE WITH HEARING LOSS IN HOSPITALS" Class 10 which will open in May 2023.

- On January 31, 2023, the Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) announced the enrollment of the 72nd Class on Skills for Communication with People with hearing loss for students/employees majoring in: Social Work, Community Health, Nursing, Medical Technician, Special Education, Customer Care, etc.

Part 2: CED’s Hearing Aid Fund Report
In January 2023, CED’s Hearing Aid Fund granted 02 hearing aids for 01 child with hearing loss, as following:
- Nguyen Thi Phuong Vy, 15 years old, HCMC (2 hearing aids)
On behalf of the children and their families, the Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) would like to express our sincere gratitude to German Lions Foundation for granting the hearing aids and Quang Duc Hearing Aid Service Company for supporting.
CED continues to note of wishes on joining the hearing aids granting program for children with hearing loss in poor families. Parents who have children with hearing loss under 18 years old and want to register for hearing aids, please register at this link:

We would kindly ask family whose children get approved for granting hearing aids to contribute 100.000 VND/hearing aid to the Hearing Aid Fund for children with hearing loss in poor families.

Part 3: Peer Consultation/Counseling
In January, Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) conducted 43 consultation/counseling cases on inclusive education for children/people with hearing loss, sign language, counseling on spoken language development for children with hearing loss, skills for communication with people with hearing loss, instructions for assisting people with hearing loss in hospitals, hearing aid Fund, connecting, cooperating activities with organisations on social responsibility.
