EXTRACURRICULAR SESSION: CHILDHOOD FOODS

On Friday morning November 7, 2025, students at the Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and hard of Hearing (CED) had a joyful and meaningful extracurricular activity with the theme “Childhood Foods.”

In a lively and warm atmosphere, the students experienced making mixed rice paper salad and preparing kumquat tea – two familiar dishes and drinks that bring back sweet school memories for many Vietnamese people.

With simple yet familiar ingredients: rice paper, green mango, Vietnamese coriander (rau răm), quail eggs, fried shallots, salted shrimp powder, and golden kumquats. Under the careful guidance of teachers and student interns, the students actively participated in every step: cutting rice paper, mixing ingredients, seasoning, squeezing kumquats, brewing tea, and decorating their drinks beautifully.

The activity not only helped students practice self-service skills and teamwork, but also brought joy, bonding, and creative experience. Each colorful portion of rice paper salad and each refreshing glass of kumquat tea represented friendship, happiness, and sharing.

The extracurricular activity ended with laughter and cheer, leaving a sweet aftertaste – not only of childhood foods, but also of friendship, care, and the joy of learning.
