ART CLASS: SELF-PORTRAIT – DISCOVERING MYSELF
On July 21, 2026, students from the STEM class at the Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) took part in an inspiring Art session themed “Self-Portrait.”
Inspired by visual examples of completed portraits and guided step-by-step by their teacher, the students:
• Observed and identified the unique features that make up their own faces.
• Learned facial proportions to ensure a balanced and harmonious placement of eyes, nose, mouth, and ears.
• Practiced sketching and refining facial details to express their individual personalities.
The lesson was more than just an opportunity to hone artistic skills and meticulous observation; it was a journey of self-discovery and self-love. Capturing their own likeness on paper helped the students enhance their aesthetic sense and patience, while bringing joy and pride as they saw their radiant selves through the lens of art.
