CLOSING SESSION OF THE BASIC SIGN LANGUAGE CLASS 67

On May 1, 2022, Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) together with the students of the Basic Sign Language class 67, completed the last lesson.

The course received 54 registrations, with the participation of 36 students and 24 students eligible for certification.

With all the enthusiasm for teaching of Ms. Duong Phuong Hanh, M.Ed and the enthusiasm for learning of students, it has created an exciting, interesting and inspiring course with these sharings.

“My favorite part is the review because I am very forgetful. Reviewing old lessons helps me remember longer. I learned many new words and how to apply these new words in communication.”

"The way she shared was very good, like a soulmate, connected and professional."

“Hopefully, in addition to the basic class, CED will open maintenance classes (no need for advanced class) for those who need to maintain their sign language study.”

“I hope the center will publish handbooks, or short videos summarizing the vocabulary in the class.

“The class only lasted 8 sessions, so it is unlikely that you would be able to communicate fluently after the class. But with 8 lessons, Ms. Hanh conveyed a lot of basics to us. The amount of knowledge in each lesson was neither too little nor too much. That amount of knowledge is enough for us to learn new things on our own through websites or media.”

Thank you for your interest and love of sign language. Your interest and learning will be the bridge connecting normal-hearing listeners and people with hearing loss to each other.

“Let people with hearing loss be heard”.
