COMPREHENSIVE COMMUNICATION EDUCATION

COMPREHENSIVE COMMUNICATION EDUCATION

In order to create favorable conditions for children with hearing loss in social inclusion, besides studying at school, the training in listening, speaking and other life skills is the top educational goal at the Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED). For children with profound hearing loss who wear inappropriate devices, their receptive process is quite slow, so learning sign language is like creating visual signals that support their verbal communication. Sign language lessons are held every Thursday afternoon with the content and teaching methods in accordance with the above goals.

At the sign language lesson on July 14, 2022, from the enlarged image on the interactive communication board, under the guidance of the teacher, the students:

- Reviewed the pronunciation of learned emotional adjectives with corresponding sign languages.

- Practiced listening and speaking adjectives indicating shapes and their correspondings in sign language.

- By verbally and with supporting sign language, each student in turn described the appearance of a family member and their affection for that loved one.

Seeing the children improving day by day (speaking more clearly, with more vocabulary), for the Board of Directors, teachers, and staff of the Center for the Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) there is no happiness that can compare.
