EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITY: SUMMER CHESS TOURNAMENT

Over the past few days, the Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) has organized the “Summer Chess Tournament” for its students. As a skill-development extracurricular program and an integral part of CED’s educational curriculum, this initiative aims to provide the students with a thrilling, rewarding, and intellectual playground.

The tournament was organized and implemented with the following key activities:

- Students competed against one another in intense chess matches to secure victories, creating a vibrant yet friendly competitive atmosphere.

- Notably, the tournament featured the guidance of two male volunteers serving as "coaches". They enthusiastically explained the rules, shared tactical moves, and boosted the morale of the young players throughout the rounds.

Through the summer chess tournament, the students not only sharpened their logical thinking, keen observation, and patience with every move, but also developed healthy sportsmanship, learning to respect opponents and embrace challenges.

At the same time, the tournament provided a wonderful opportunity for them to boost their confidence, enhance communication, build friendships, and gain valuable lessons under the guidance of the volunteer coaches.
