The Center for Research and Education of The Deaf and Hard Of Hearing (CED)

 

On February 10th – 18th 2020, to respons and raising awareness on the World Hearing Day 03/03/2020, The Center for Rsearch and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) wrote and posted articles regarding Ear Care, Hearing Protect, Awareness Raising on this day on its website and Face Book. The google survey https://forms.gle/8dqBKZ1SDmv4uBqK9 was also designed to learn about the communicty’s knowledge in hearing loss, ear and hearing care. This survey’s result will be reported to World Health Organization (WHO) for its World Hearing Day 2020 program.

 

 

On February 11th-14th 2020, The Center for Research and Education of The Deaf and Hard Of Hearing (CED) organized some meetings for the purposes:

  • Discussing on coronas protection,
  • Listening to their ideas on study of their child: opportunities and challenge,
  • Raising awareness on Word Hearing Day 2020.

 

On February 17th 2020, Teachers of the Center for Research and Education of The Deaf and Hard Of Hearing (CED) instructed their students:

  • Self-protection and health care skills;
  • Corona disease prevention and protection measures (making personal hygiene, washing hands with soap, wearing a mask, keeping warm, limiting travel, avoiding crowded places, etc. should follow instruction of medial authorities).

 

On February 17th – 19th 2020, Ms Duong Phuong Hanh – Director of CED taught “Lipreading skill” to a trainee who came from Da Nang at Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED). The program focused on guiding students to understand the concept of lipreading, its purpose, practice method. In particular, the program emphasized the types of lessons to develop sharp skills, logical thinking, to help the trainee make judgments in reading lips. 

 

On February 18th 2020, Ms Duong Phuong Hanh – Director of CED raised awareness on the World Hearing Day 2020  for a group of student of Special Education Faculty, Hochiminh City University of Education at the CED.

 

 

On February 19th 2020, the Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) organized a drawing course for all CED students. The topics are for monthly and with February, the students draw a lot about “landscapes”. They have learned how to perspective and mix colors.

 

On February 19th 2020, Ms Duong Phuong Hanh – Director of CED had a meeting with Mrs Mu Ngoc – President of “Association Signes et Paroles” (France), shared information, teaching methods and activities of both parties at the CED office.

 

On February 27th 2020, the Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) was honored to be approved its proposal by the World Health Organization (WHO) to implement the program on World Hearing Day, 03/03/2020. It includes the following activities: (1) Test hearing; (2) Grant hearing aids; (3) Translate WHO flyers and provide relevant target groups: people with hearing loss, parents, social workers/policy makers. It’s known that the Theme of World Hearing Day 2020 is “Hearing For Life: Don’t Hearing Loss Limit You”. 

 

Report of “CED Hearing Aid Fund”:  in February 2020, the CED Hearing Aid Fund has donated 1 unit to Nguyen Duc Thien Quan in Kien Giang province.

 

On behalf of his family, The Center for Research and Education of The Deaf and Hard Of Hearing (CED) respectfully thanks German Lions Foundation for their donation and thanks to Quang Duc Hearing Aid Service Company for its installation service.

Consultancy/Peer counseling

In this month, The Center for Research and Education of The Deaf and Hard Of Hearing (CED) had accomplished 36 cases of consultancy / peer counseling for education, introduction to employment, hearing aid, consultancy for parents with difficulty in teaching children with hearing loss, sign language etc…
