PAINTING ON GYPSUM STATUES

At the extracurricular session on May 21 at CED, students had deep moments into the totally new Fine Art world: painting on gypsum statues.

With normal hearing children, this is a familiar pastime, but this was totally new to students with hearing loss. The bewildered faces, the clumsy brush strokes, the hesitations in choosing the right color… Thus they had new experience: choosing different colors and brush for different materials (paper, sand, gypsum…)

Although the “artworks” were not yet completed, but when seeing the innocent smiles and their enjoying, every one of us would also recognise that “happiness comes from the simplest thing.”
