TRAINING PROGRAM: THE COURSE 77 OF SKILLS IN COMMUNICATION WITH PEOPLE WITH HEARING LOSS (SESSION 3)

On March 22, 2026, Ms. Duong Phuong Hanh - Director of Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) trained Sign Language – Basic Level for 34 participants, consisting of 14 professionals working in fields such as Education, Healthcare, Social Work, Art, Media, along with 20 students.

Sign language is one of two themes in the training program on Skills for Communication with People with Hearing Loss (Deaf, Hard of Hearing, Late Deafened). The second theme is lipsreading.

In the third session, learners studied vocabulary and sentence structures in sign language related to the theme of Family, including:

• Family members and extended relatives

• Introducing family members

• Describing the appearance and personality of a beloved family member

By the end of the class, everyone was excited to learn the sign language version of the song “Ca nha thuong nhau” (The Whole Family Loves Each Other).

The diligence and proactive, enthusiastic learning spirit shown by all of you in every session is an invaluable gift to CED. We are sincerely grateful for your dedication to learning Sign Language and your heartfelt efforts to connect with the deaf and hard-of-hearing community. These efforts serve as vital bridges, narrowing the gap between the hearing and the deaf. By fostering a world where they are truly heard, understood, and supported, you empower them to unlock their potential and contribute meaningfully to society.
