On July 5, 2026, the Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) held the fifth session of the Skills in Communication with People with Hearing Loss – Course 78, led by Ms. Duong Phuong Hanh, Director of CED. The class comprised 29 participants, including 17 professionals from fields such as education, healthcare, marketing, business, and tourism, along with 12 students.

At the beginning of the session, participants reviewed the previous lesson by practicing sign language conversations on the topics of Family and School. They reviewed sentence patterns for introducing family members, talking about school, favorite subjects, school supplies, and practiced signing the song “Đi học” (Going to School).

In the fifth session, participants studied sign language vocabulary and sentence structures related to the themes of Fruits and Colors, including:

- Common fruit vocabulary.

- Color vocabulary.

- Vocabulary describing the smell and taste of fruits.

- Practicing question-and-answer sentence patterns about favorite fruits, as well as describing their taste and smell.

By the end of the class, everyone was excited to learn the sign language version of the song “Sắc màu em yêu” (The Colors I Love), which helped participants remember color vocabulary in an engaging and enjoyable way.

Sign language is one of two themes in the training program on Skills in Communication with People with Hearing Loss (Deaf, Hard of Hearing, Late Deafened). The second theme is lipsreading.
