TRAINING PROGRAM: THE COURSE 78 OF SKILLS IN COMMUNICATION WITH PEOPLE WITH HEARING LOSS (SESSION 8)

On July 26, 2026, the Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) held the eighth session of the Skills in Communication with People with Hearing Loss – Course 78, led by Ms. Duong Phuong Hanh, Director of CED. The class comprised 29 participants, including 17 professionals from the fields of education, healthcare, marketing, business, and tourism, along with 12 students.

In the eighth session, participants learned sign language vocabulary and conversational expressions related to the theme of “Transportation”, including:

- Learning signs for familiar means of transportation: bus, cyclo, car, taxi, bicycle, airplane, and helicopter.

- Reviewing transportation vocabulary and practicing forming conversational sentences.

In addition, participants enthusiastically practiced signing and dancing to the song “Ô tô buýt” (The Bus).

At the end of the session, the instructor guided the class through a comprehensive review of all topics covered from Session 1 to Session 8, reinforcing familiar themes such as “Family”, “School”, “Fruits and Colors”, helping participants consolidate their vocabulary and enhance their communication practice.

Sign language is one of two themes in the training program on Skills in Communication with People with Hearing Loss (Deaf, Hard of Hearing, Late-Deafened). The second theme is lip-reading.
