Part 1: CED activities
- On May 1, 2022, Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) together with the students of the Basic Sign Language class 67, completed the last lesson.
The course received 54 registrations, with the participation of 36 students and 24 students eligible for certification.

- On May 5, 2022, Ms. Duong Phuong Hanh – Director of Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) discussed with Dr. Le Thi Ngoc Tho on issues related to sign language to support a group of students in designing software using artificial intelligence AI to automatically interpret sign language.

- On May 5, 2022, Ms. Duong Phuong Hanh - Director of Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) had a consultation session for the SOS group - a group of students from University of Technology - Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City on the implementation of a project designing a Smart Communication Support Device that converts sign language into writing, supporting the deaf for their community and social inclusion.

- On May 15, 2022, Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) started the Sign Language - Basic level class 68 – Skills for Communication with People with Hearing Loss, with 23 participants who were officers, social workers, students and people working in IT, environment, foreign language, translating, economics,…

- On May 20, 2022, Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) was approved by the Impact Fund 2022 from the Australian Volunteers Program (AVP) to sponsor the project “A world without barriers for the deaf (Deaf, Hard of Hearing)”. The project will provide 5 classes on “Communication skills with people with hearing loss (Deaf/Hard of Hearing)” in one year from June 1, 2022 to May 31, 2023. The program is open to all agencies, organizations and individuals interested.

- On May 22, 2022, Ms. Duong Phuong Hanh - Director of Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) trained 22 students who are social workers, students and some participants working in Information Technology, Environment, Foreign Languages, Translation, Economics,... on Sign Language - Basic level of the training program on skills for communication with people with hearing loss (Deaf, Hard of Hearing, Late Deafened).

- On May 26, 2022, Ms. Duong Phuong Hanh – Director of Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) had a consultation for parents of a child with hearing loss in Quang Ngai about early intervention. - On May 28, 2022, Ms. Duong Phuong Hanh – Director of Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) shared about “Social work with People with Hearing Loss (Deaf, Hard of hearing, Late Deafened)” for 16 students of 1st and 2nd year majoring in Social Work, Van Lang University at CED.

Part 2: CED’s Hearing Aid Fund Report
In May 2022, CED’s Hearing Aid Fund granted 05 hearing aids for 03 children with hearing loss, as following:
1. Trần Ngô Khánh, 02 years old, Đà Nẵng (01 hearing aids)
2. Võ Hoàng Quyến, 28 years old, Bình Dương (02 hearing aids)
3. Đỗ Xuân Phúc, 08 years old, Bình Thuận (02 hearing aids)
On behalf of the children, Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) would like to express our sincere gratitude to German Lions Foundation for granting the hearing aids and Quang Duc Hearing Aid Service Company for supporting.
CED continues to note of wishes on joining the hearing aids granting program for children with hearing loss in poor families. Parents who have children with hearing loss under 18 years old and want to register for hearing aids, please send the audiogram to email: dphanh@trungtamkhiemthinh.org

Part 3: Peer Consultation/Counseling
In April, Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) conducted 123 consultation/counseling cases on education, sign language, trainings on education for children with hearing loss, hearing aids fund, consulting parents having difficulties in raising children with hearing loss, connecting and collaborating with other organizations…
