EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITY: NUTRITION AND BALANCED NUTRITION
On August 14, 2026, at the Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED), STEM students participated in a very practical extracurricular session themed: "Nutrition and Balanced Nutrition".
Understanding that a healthy body is the most important foundation for learning and creativity, under the guidance of their teachers, the STEM students:
• Explored the world of nutrition: Learning about the concept of nutrition and the role of food in physical development.
• Distinguished the 4 main nutrient groups: Directly observing and naming foods belonging to Carbohydrates, Proteins, Fats, Vitamins, and Minerals.
• Learned "Eat Right - Eat Enough": Students were guided on reasonable eating ratios and prioritizing food diversity. Specifically, the secret of balancing animal and plant proteins, as well as vegetable oils and animal fats.
• Built healthy habits: Understanding the importance of increasing green vegetables and fruits (fiber and antioxidants) and learning to limit sugar, salt, and saturated fats to prevent obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases.
The most exciting part of the lesson was the "Smart Choice" practice activity. The students worked together to classify foods as good or bad for the body and quickly arranged them into the correct nutrient groups.
At the end of the session, the atmosphere became even more vibrant with a knowledge review through the "Group Challenge" game. The students competed in food recognition quizzes and raised their boards to choose the correct answers. The raised hands and excited smiles closed a high-energy session.
This extracurricular activity not only provided nutritional knowledge but also trained students in healthy food selection skills and self-care awareness. The bright smiles and enthusiasm in each activity served as positive energy, encouraging the students to love and cherish their own health.
