ACTIVITY REPORT – MARCH 2023
Part 1: CED activities
- On March 18, 2023, Ms. Duong Phuong Hanh – Director of the Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) participated in an interview with YSEALI – Mekong Program.
- On March 19 and 26, 2023, Ms. Duong Phuong Hanh - Director of the Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) opened the course on Skills for Communication with People with Hearing Loss, the 72th Class with 47 participants.

- On March 20, 2023, Ms. To Thi Bich Phuong – Deputy Director of CED attended the webinar on “Special education for Vietnamese pupils/students at continuing education centers, vocational and continuing education centers and special education institutions” at the invitation of the Nisai Education Foundation.

- On March 29, 2023, Ms. Duong Phuong Hanh – Director of CED advised a parent with a child with hearing loss about early intervention learning.
- CED received:
+ 03 students with hearing loss join the inclusive class.
+ 01 volunteer who is a first-year student of the University of Economics and Law.
- CED conducted 02 legal consultations for 02 people with hearing loss (Deaf/Hard of hearing), specifically as follows:
1. Supported 01 family in providing information for their relatives with hearing loss about the disability certification process and time to receive the certificate locally.
2. Guided and connected 01 person with hearing loss with a lawyer of the State Legal Aid Center in Ho Chi Minh City for consultation and reporting about their case of the distribution of personal photos on social networks.
- CED shared to the community information about events and programs:
1. World Hearing Day 2023 with the message “Ear and Hearing Care for Everyone - Make it a Reality!”

Part 2: CED’s Hearing Aid Fund Report
In March 2023, CED continues to note of wishes on joining the hearing aids granting program for children with hearing loss in poor families. Parents who have children with hearing loss under 18 years old and want to register for hearing aids, please register at this link:

We would kindly ask family whose children get approved for granting hearing aids to contribute 100.000 VND/hearing aid to the Hearing Aid Fund for children with hearing loss in poor families.

Part 3: Peer Consultation/Counseling
In March, the Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) conducted 69 consultation/counseling cases on inclusive education for children/people with hearing loss, sign language interpretation in hospitals, providing transparent masks – supporting tools for communication with people with hearing loss, counseling on spoken language development for children with hearing loss, skills for communication with people with hearing loss, instructions for assisting people with hearing loss in hospitals, job recommendation and connecting, cooperating activities with other organisations.
